Peterbilt 587 Interior Dash Trim

Frequently Asked Questions About Peterbilt 587 Interior Dash Trim

Will this dash trim fit my Peterbilt 587 without modification?

Interior dash trim pieces are designed to match the factory dash layout of the Peterbilt 587, so they generally fit without cutting or drilling. However, dash configurations can vary depending on the options and gauge packages installed at the factory, so it's a good idea to compare the part's shape and mounting points to your existing trim before ordering.

What materials are these dash trim pieces made from, and how durable are they?

Dash trim panels are typically made from ABS plastic, chrome-plated plastic, or stainless steel, depending on the specific piece and finish option. These materials are chosen to hold up to daily cab use and resist fading or cracking from sun exposure, though care should still be taken to avoid excessive impact or scratching during installation and cleaning.

How difficult is it to install interior dash trim myself?

Most dash trim pieces are designed for straightforward installation using existing mounting points, adhesive backing, or factory-style clips and fasteners. Basic hand tools are usually all that's needed, though some panels may require removing existing trim or hardware first. If you're unsure about a specific piece, checking for included instructions or reaching out to our support team before starting is recommended.

What finish options are available for dash trim pieces?

Depending on the specific product, dash trim is commonly available in chrome, brushed stainless, woodgrain, or painted-to-match finishes. Availability varies by part, so check each product listing for the finish options offered for that particular piece.

Will this trim interfere with existing gauges, switches, or wiring?

Dash trim pieces are designed to fit around factory gauges, switches, and vents on the Peterbilt 587 without blocking access or function. That said, if your truck has aftermarket switches or a non-standard gauge layout, double-check cutout placement against your dash before installing to ensure everything lines up correctly.
