Frequently Asked Questions About Kenworth T600 Custom Pedals
What year models of Kenworth T600 are these custom pedals compatible with?
Our custom pedals are designed to fit Kenworth T600 models from 1994 through 2007. The mounting points remained consistent throughout these production years, so any pedal set listed for the T600 will work with your truck regardless of the specific year within this range. However, we recommend double-checking your VIN with our customer service team if you have a very early 1994 model or late 2007 model, as there were occasional mid-year changes.
Are these pedals made from aluminum or steel, and will they rust or corrode?
Most of our Kenworth T600 custom pedals are manufactured from either billet aluminum or stainless steel. Aluminum pedals are lightweight, will not rust, and typically feature a polished or anodized finish that resists corrosion. Stainless steel options are heavier but extremely durable and also rust-resistant. Both materials are designed to withstand years of heavy use and exposure to road salt, moisture, and other harsh conditions. The specific material for each pedal set is listed in the product description.
How difficult is the installation process, and what tools do I need?
Installation typically takes 30-45 minutes per pedal and requires basic hand tools including a socket set, screwdrivers, and possibly a drill for certain models. Most custom pedals are designed as direct bolt-on replacements using your existing mounting holes. Some drivers choose to add anti-slip pads or rubber inserts, which may require drilling additional holes. Detailed installation instructions are included with each pedal set, and no welding or cutting is required for standard installations.
What finish options are available, and how do they hold up over time?
Common finish options include polished aluminum, chrome-plated, black powder coat, and brushed stainless steel. Polished aluminum requires occasional buffing to maintain its shine but is very durable. Chrome finishes provide excellent mirror-like appearance but may show minor pitting after several years in harsh climates. Powder-coated pedals offer the best resistance to chips and scratches, while brushed stainless maintains its appearance with minimal maintenance. Each finish type is tested for durability in commercial trucking environments.
Will aftermarket pedals affect my throttle response or clutch feel?
Quality aftermarket pedals are designed to maintain the same pedal geometry and pivot points as your factory pedals, so they should not affect throttle response or clutch engagement. The pedal travel, resistance, and overall feel remain unchanged. However, some custom pedals are slightly heavier than stock, which some drivers actually prefer for better pedal control. If you experience any changes in pedal operation after installation, check that all mounting bolts are properly tightened and that the pedal is not binding against any other components.
