5 Unique Lug Nut Cover Styles to Give Your Truck a More Polished Look

Semi truck lug nut covers aren’t just useful in protecting your lug nut and wheel studs, but they’re a great way to achieve a more polished, cleaner look at a low-cost.

Here are some of the coolest-looking lug nut covers you can get for your commercial semi truck.

Steel Reflector Lug Nut Covers

These are run-of-the-mill covers that feature a few different reflector colors at the tip. Amber, blue, and red are your choices. You can, of course, choose between a push-on style (the vast majority of options) or a threaded style.

Things to Know Before You Buy Lug Nut Covers

The Two Main Types of Lug Nut Covers:

  • Threated: screws onto exposed threads of lug nut.
  • Push-on: snap onto the lug nut.

Standard Sizes

  • 33mm or 1-1.5 inches.
  • Push-on covers are often 33 mm, but threaded covers both sizes.

Determining Lug Nut Size:

  • Use a socket wrench to test the fit.
  • 33 mm = 1.3 inches; 1-1.5 inches is 38 mm.

Hub Piloted vs Stud Piloted Wheels

  • Hub-piloted wheels: require 33 mm lug nuts.
  • Stud-piloted wheels: require 1-1.5 inch lug nuts.

Determine the Fit: Threaded vs Push-On

  • Measure exposed thread length of lug nut (from end of tightened nut to tip of stud).
  • If less than 0.5 inches of exposed thread = use push-on covers.
  • If more than 0.5 inches = use threaded covers
